The
B.U.I.L.D. (Brotherhood Unified for Independent Leadership through
Discipline) Youth Empowerment Academy is a comprehensive, Non-Profit
501 (c) 3 Youth Basic Training Institution stressing leadership, self-esteem,
personal responsibility, constructive discipline, self-respect, foundation
building and positive societal accord. The program was established
in 1993 by its founder, nationally renowned, award winning, motivational
youth expert Aquil Basheer.
Mr. Basheer has worked with thousands of young adults for over a 32 year period and because of this on-going interaction became unmistakably convinced that their was a need to develop a co-ed program for young adults to guild them on a directional path to empowerment, accomplishment, and triumph. Congruently realizing reducing the self destructive behavior and violent tendencies that in many cases was becoming an acceptable part of their behavior was a must. The award winning 30 point youth survival manhood / womanhood training format was implemented because it is well understood that in order to reach the degree of maturity needed to be a constructive asset to society and at the same time be productive to themselves, their must be a “roadmap” as well as an “viable action plan” in place for our young adults to follow.
